Louisville Basketball Set To Have A Historic Season

It is finally that time of the year again. The basketball season is known shining upon us. With the season set to kick off with our first exhibition game on November 1st, it almost seems unreal. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a basketball-first fan, although I do have a love for football.

With the days starting to tick down, we can finally get ready for some fantastic action to take place at the KFC Yum! Center. This season marks the first time in a while, that the Cardinals have been ranked in the top two.

As you probably know already, the Cards will be coming into the season as the second ranked team in the nation. (Only behind Indiana). This will offer a border-to-border bond. Indiana, Louisville, and Kentucky will be the top three teams.

It’s hard to find anything not to excited about. Especially when your team is undefeated in football and a championship contender in basketball.

I’ll promise you that we will be set for a season of ups and downs, but at the end of the day, we will always be right up there in all of College Basketball. We’ve talked about a BCS National Championship still possible in football, but what about basketball?

Let’s keep it simple. If Pitino can’t get it done this year, I don’t believe that he’ll ever get it done. Yeah, I know he won a championship with Kentucky, but who cares. It is time for the Cards to be lifting up that championship trophy in basketball.

After all, if Kentucky can do it, we can do it, right?

Frankly put, this is make it or break it for Louisville Cardinals basketball. Off-the-court issues have propelled us back. We can deal with any more suspensions, i.e; Chane Behanan. Nor can we get hit with the injury bug, ie; Mike Marra. To be successful, this season can’t have any more setbacks. The talent is there, but it’s all with how we use it.

When many thought we couldn’t do it last season….we did. Absolutely no person outside of the Cardinals fan base expected us to make a run at the Final Four. Now we have higher expectations, which is not to only go to the Final Four, but win it. Atlanta may be one of our favorite cities, when hopefully a championship banner is started there.

I absolutely am more excited than ever for this Louisville Cardinals basketball team.

Like I said, the talent is there. Let’s just try to use it in the best way possible.

Here’s to a 3rd championship banner!

*Extra: There has been a movement to try to get a NBA team into the city of Louisville. If you have the time, sign a petition and make this happen.
