Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns as the Syracuse Orange handed Louisville their first loss of the season. Jerome Smith ran for 114 yards and Prince-Tyson Gulley added 98 yards as the Louisville defense had no answer for the Syracuse offense. With the game tied at 10 in the second quarter the Orange rattle off 21 unanswered points to take a commanding 31-10 lead. Louisville kicker John Wallace added a field goal just before the half cutting the deficit to 31-13. The teams traded touchdowns in the second half as the final count was 45-26.
On a bright note Teddy Bridgewater continued to impress completing 36-49 passes for 426 yards and three touchdowns. Eli Rogers had 10 catches for 97 yards. Jeremy Wright led Louisville in rushing with only 29 yards but being so far behind in the 2nd half Louisville pretty much had to abandon the run.
The loss puts Rutgers in the driving seat for the Big East title however the Knights still have road games at Cincinnati and Pitt before hosting Louisville on November 29th that will probably decide the Big East Champion. Louisville is off next week before hosting UCONN November 24th.
