Staying or Going?

Louisville Coach Charlie Strong held a press conference Monday afternoon to talk about the Louisville win at Rutgers and the upcoming Sugar Bowl in New Orleans against his old team the Florida Gators.

The subject quickly changed when he was asked about the numerous reports that he has been contacted by Tennessee and Auburn about their coaching vacancies. Strong says he gets “annoyed” when rumors like this are brought up and I’m sure he is tired of answering the same questions about coaching vacancies. However, when given the chance to end all speculation Strong danced around the question saying it would be addressed at the proper time.

Players tweeted over the weekend that Coach Strong addressed these rumors with them and assured them he would be their coach next year. Finesse Middleton who was an Ole Miss commit, flipped to Louisville over the weekend. Apparently he asked Charlie himself and was told he wasn’t going anywhere. Louisville AD Tom Jurich has been on record as saying he would make Charlie the highest paid coach in the country if he has to. With all the rumors flying around it may be time to bring out the checkbook.
