Cards Sink Pirates

Louisville center Gorgui Dieng seems to be recovering from an early season wrist injury just fine.  Dieng had 16 points & 14 rebounds to lead Louisville to a 73 – 58 win over Seton Hall on Wednesday night.  Freshman Montrezl Harrell starting for injured forward Chane Behanan had a season high 14 points.  The win was the ninth in a row for the Cards moving them to 14-1 on the season and 2-0 in The Big East.

Seton Hall was led by Brandon Mobley with 18 points and Eugene Teague added 14.  The Pirates fell to 12 – 4 on the year and 1 – 2 in conference play.

The game was pretty close until mid-way through the 2nd half when the Cards used a 16 – 6 run to pull away led by two Luke Hancock 3-pointers.  Louisville forced 16 turnovers while holding the Pirates to 34% shooting for the game.

Louisville will host South Florida on Saturday at 4pm at The Yum Center while Providence is up next for Seton Hall.
