Louisville Should Easily Beat Bulls

The No. 12 Louisville Cardinals (20-5) hit the road to face South Florida (10-14). The Bulls have lost 11 of their last 12 games. Therefore, UofL should be able to go into Tampa and leave with an impressive win.

USF is just 8-7 at home this season. Their best win was a 61-58 victory over Georgetown (19-4). The Hoyas may have taken that one for granted and got upset as a result.

The Bulls rely heavily on Victor Rudd. Rudd is the team leader in scoring with 11.4 points and rebounding with 6.8 per game. Anthony Collins is their play maker; he averages 6.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 9.0 points per game. USF only averages 60.0 points per game which ranks a horrible 321st in the country. This is a problem considering UofL is 18-1 when holding their opponents under 70 points.

Louisville is 5-3 on the road and have dropped three of the last four away from home. While concerning, it shouldn’t be a problem today. The Cards are averaging 74.6 points per game, 14.6 more than USF. In addition, UofL should be able to control the backboards in this one. Gorgui Dieng will lead the way as he averages 10.3 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game.

Russ Smith continues to score in waves for Louisville and has an 18.6 points per game average. Smith was held to just 3 points in the first half last out, but pitched in 21 second half points against St. John’s (15-10). Peyton Siva is the assist leader with 6.0 per game.

If focused, Louisville should be able to leave the Sun Dome with a double-digit win. The Cardinals are currently a 13.5 point Vegas favorite. All signs are pointing to an easy cover.

Prediction:

UofL 68 USF 50
