The Big East conference only had one player drafted in the first round of the NFL draft last night. Justin Pugh from Syracuse was the only player taken. He went with the 19th overall pick to the New York Giants.

Pugh was a senior for the ‘Cuse. He is a 6 foot 4, 307 pound offensive lineman who the Giants hope can offer some protection for their quarterback, Eli Manning. Pugh was a two time First Team All-Big East in 2011 and 2012.

Justin has a great opportunity and has the potential to start this coming season for the Giants.

The second and third rounds of the draft continues tonight at 6:30 on ESPN. Hopefully tonight we will hear some Cards’ names announced.
