If you’ve been following Louisville Basketball Recruiting, you’ve probably hear the name Theo Pinson here and there. Pinson is a 6’6″ forward from North Carolina who is also a five-star recruit. He’s going to declare tomorrow afternoon around 12:15. I just love these high-profile declarations from players and all of the anticipation leading up to it.
The frontrunners in his recruitment is UNC and Indiana, whereas Louisville is considered to be improbable. His recruitment list includes IU, UNC, UofL, Duke, and Georgetown. Pinson has visited every school on that list except for Louisville, while IU is the only campus he’s visited. This obviously doesn’t look good for UofL. Another bad thing for UofL is the fact that Pinson had originally been declaring in a few months, but he’s bumped it up (obviously). Maybe he’s seen enough and wants to go ahead and commit to IU…or maybe he wants to shock the world. Pinson will be a great get for any school he decides to attend. He’s extremely athletic and will be a defensive asset wherever he may go. It just looks like that place will not be Louisville.
PREDICTION: I think that Theo Pinson will choose Indiana, continuing Tom Crean’s ability to recruit a good five-star player year after year after year.
