Another honor has bestowed upon the members of perhaps the best Louisville Baseball Team ever. This time, two UofL pitchers have been honored by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association as All-Americans. Those two lucky players are UofL RHP Jeff Thompson, the rotation’s ace and RHP closer Nick Burdi, one of the best closers in the nation.
Nick Burdi was the highest-awarded UofL player, garnering 2nd-team honors. The sophomore has certainly emerged this season after having a not-so-great freshman year, one in which he had a pretty lofty ERA. He’s drawn heads this year and thanks to the NCBWA for taking notice.
Below are his stats from last season.
People with the greatest influence on his athletic career are his parents, who always supported him and pushed him to be the best he could be. Favorite movies are Notorious, Friday and Next Friday. Enjoys watching SportsCenter and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Favorite athlete is Michael Jordan. Favorite cereal is Cheerios. Favorite candy bar is Snickers. Enjoys eating at Famous Dave’s BBQ. Favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys. Enjoys listening to rap and hip-hop.
