2014 PF Cliff Alexander Puts UofL in His Top 10

Earlier today, Chicago’s Cliff Alexander, a 6’8″, 225-lb forward, ranked by ESPN as the 2nd-best player in the nation, as well as the 5th-best in the nation by Rivals, named his top 10 schools over twitter.  Of those ten schools, Louisville was one included.

Being the highly-ranked player he is, Alexander has a myriad of powerhouse schools also vying for his commitment.  Of those ten schools left, two of them are in-state powers DePaul and Illinois.  Alexander is leading the way in a very strong year for Illinois High School basketball players in general, as fellow interstate Center Jahlil Okafor is ESPN’s No. 1 recruit of 2014.  It’ll definitely be a big help for any school that can manage to get either of them.

Alexander is making visits this weekend, visiting Kansas today and Illinois tomorrow.  I would like to see Louisville get Alexander, but I just don’t necessarily see it.  I mean, 247Sports’  Crystal Ball Predictors have him picking either Michigan State or Kentucky.  Personally, if he didn’t pick Louisville, I’d love for him to pick DePaul (but that’s just the crazy part of me).
