Earlier today, it was announced on the Louisville Athletics website GoCards.com that the Louisville Volleyball schedule for 2013 had been released. After last year’s fantastic season, going 30-4 and winning the Big East Title, they are heading for the AAC this year and hope to prolong that success. This year’s schedule is full of tough matchups and the Cards know it, but they are prepared.
“Coming off a record breaking season with regards to national rank, RPI, and attendance in 2012, I believe a main factor in continuing to have national success is to play a nationally competitive schedule,” said head coach Anne Kordes. “Our 2013 schedule boasts some of the toughest teams in the nation with the matches against Penn State, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pepperdine, Northern Iowa, Wichita State, and Bowling Green, along with future ACC opponent Virginia Tech. I could not be more excited to be back in the KFC YUM! Center for the fall as it allowed us to attract a larger fan base and create an unforgiving home environment for our opponents.”
The Cardinal slate will feature eight 2012 NCAA participants, eight regionally ranked teams, five nationally ranked teams and 10 teams in the top 100 in RPI. UofL will play in four tournaments, including its own Active Ankle Challenge.
