Louisville Lands Two New 2014 Football Recruits

Earlier today, we told you about Louisville losing a solid recruit in Detric Dukes, a linebacker who flipped his commitment to Georgia.  Well, the Cards now have some good news that will certainly take away the sting of the flip:

Daniel Gresham, a FB/RB who was previously committed to Texas and was scheduled to visit UofL next weekend, decided to commit to Louisville.  Other teams that were high on his list to commit to included the Miami Hurricanes and Ole Miss Rebels.  Hardly anybody was really expecting this, as is evident by the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions.  Gresham is a 4-star player according to ESPN and 247Sports, as well as being arguably Louisville’s best recruit of the 2014 class.  This is obviously a huge get for Louisville, as prior to his Texas commitment, and even after, he was being offered by tons of SEC and CFB powerhouses like Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Arkansas, Florida State, etc.  He’s such a solid player and will definitely be able to power through defensive lines, while at the same time break tackles and provide a huge offensive boost.

Another great piece of news involves the Cards getting a commitment from another recruit, this one being 3-star safety Zykiesis Cannon.  Cannon, a 5’11″, 181 pound safety from Greenville, SC, is the 16th Louisville commit from the 2014 class.  This isn’t a huge surprise, as Louisville was leading in his recruitment for the most part.  Other teams offering Cannon include Georgia Tech, Boston College, NC State, and East Carolina, among others.
