Dan McDonnell Nominated for CBI.com's Coach of the Year Award

After the fantastic season that the Cardinals Baseball team, led by Coach Dan McDonnell, had, the success hasn’t gone unnoticed.  This season, McDonnell managed to get his 300th career win, as well as lead his Louisville team to the second College World Series appearance in team history.

McDonnell does have some stiff competition to go up against.  John Savage’s UCLA team won the CWS after not being a national seed and defeating No. 5 national seed Cal State Fullerton in the Super Regionals, as well as performing impressively in the CWS.  I believe Savage will win, but who knows?  Well, besides the folks at college baseball insider.com…

National COTY Finalists

  • John Cohen, Mississippi State
  • Brad Hill, Kansas State
  • Dan McDonnell, Louisville
  • Brian O’Connor, Virginia
  • John Savage, UCLA
  • Tracy Smith, Indiana
  • Rick Vanderhook, Cal State Fullerton
