Former Louisville star, Austin Berry, has become a fan favorite in Chicago. Last season, Berry’s first season with the Fire, he was on the front of Life cereal boxes. Today Chicago honors him with his very own bobblehead. The Fire had fan voting to see who they wanted as the next bobblehead. Berry won over forward, Chris Rolfe, goal keeper, Sean Johnson, defender, Gonzalo Segares, and recent retiree, Arne Friedrich. The first 7,500 fans to the game today get the Berry bobblehead.
Berry was the 2012 MLS Rookie of the Year and is making his 50th appearance for the Fire today. Berry has played every minute for the Fire this season and once he got the opportunity to play last season, he never came out.
Chicago is 7-0-2 in their last nine games as they take on Sporting KC today. The game will be aired nationally on ESPN and kick off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
