Louisville Cardinals to Visit President Obama

Every year, the various teams that win championships in their respective sports take a White House visit to be congratulated by President Barack Obama.  Since the Louisville Cardinals Men’s Basketball Team won the national championship back in April, it’s now their turn to go visit the President.

It sure has been a while since they won, but a date has been set:

It’s going to be awesome to see Rick Pitino and the rest of the 2012-13 squad hand the President a Cardinals jersey with “44″ on it, as that is not only an honor, but the number of current center Stephan Van Treese.  Ah well, I’m sure he won’t mind.  It’ll also be neat, considering that this will be the first time Pitino has made a White House visit since the Clinton Administration.

Politics aside, this is a great moment for Cardinals Athletics and another great moment for the basketball team and Coach Pitino.
