Cardinal Fans get Ready!!!

It seems like forever since the Cards have taken the court with the 8 day layoff between games that actually grew to 9 games thanks to weather concerns in Philadelphia. The good thing is for us fans is we will have a chance to see 3 games almost back to back. Tonight the Cards will take on The Temple Owls at 6pm, Followed by a Sunday game against Rutgers at 6pm and finally a game Tuesday game against UCF at 7pm. I know that’s a lot to digest considering there is just a one day break between each game.

The fans are the biggest winners of getting to see so much basketball over a 5 day stretch, but the team will go from anxiously waiting to get on the court to virtually no break to prepare for each game. I’m sure Coach Pitino has been making the most of the break and prepping for the next few games, that’s one thing that you can almost guarantee is that Coach Pitino will be prepared and have a game plan for each game. It’s going to be up to the team to execute the game plan, which will be interesting since it is mid-February and we still have not really settled on a lineup. I don’t really mind not having a set line-up because I see this team as having to change the line-up constantly depending on the opponent. When we are able to go small with Wayne Blackshear at the 4 position we will, but there will be some opponents where we cannot simply win with that game plan. I would expect to see a lot of Wayne at the 4 over the next three games considering none of these teams are overly talented or have extreme size. This is the time of the year that the Cards usually start to turn it on so let’s hope for a 3 game route over the next 5 days. Let’s Go CARDS!!!
