Cardinals Dominate Rutgers, Win by 61

Chris Jones filled the stat sheet and 11 players saw the court as the Louisville Cardinals trounced Rutgers by 61 points in their first American Athletic Conference tournament game. Check out this line 18 pts, 5 reb, 4 ast, 1 blk. That’s what Chris Jones did today in 28 minutes. 5 Cards were in double digits including; Russ Smith 16, Luke Hancock 13, Montrezl Harrell 13, and Terry Rozier 14.

Rutgers never had a chance as Louisville held them to only 31 points in the game. That means they would have had to score 3 times what they did in order to have beaten Louisville by 1 point. It is one of the craziest post season blow outs that I can remember. Let’s put it this way, if all of Louisville’s starters didn’t score a point, they still would have won 32-31.

The 92-31 victory puts the Cardinals in the AAC Semifinal tomorrow against Houston at 7:00 PM on ESPN2. Yes, Houston who defeated SMU in a head scratching game earlier today.
