The Cardinals finished the season strong winning the AAC tournament by completely destroying everyone they played. When asked about what seed Louisville will be in the tournament, Pitino replied with “We’re a 1 seed” and then the selection show happened. Louisville was given a 4 seed in the Midwest region and will open play against Manhattan. Louisville will likely finish the season ranked third in the AP, yet isn’t considered a top 12 team by the committee.
What ever happened to the eye test? What happened to the last 10 games playing a major role in seeding? How did St. Louis get a 5 seed? How is Michigan, Wichita St., Kentucky, Duke, and Louisville end up in the same region? Villanova a 2 seed? SMU snubbed because of their schedule but NC State is in with a schedule just as bad? I think there needs to be a change in how the seeding is done, but regardless I believe my Cards are ready for the challenge.
