Eagles select former Louisville Cardinal Marcus Smith

While a lot of people may be surprised by the Eagles taking Marcus Smith, Cardinal fans shouldn’t be.  Marcus Smith lead the nation in sacks his senior season and applied constant pressure on the quarterback when he didn’t bring them down.  Smith came into Louisville as a quarterback and was wisely moved to defensive end were he flourished.  Smith being drafted in the first round along with teammate Calvin Pryor, made for the first time two Cardinals were selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
