Satterday’s are going prime time (at least for this week)

After originally being announced as a 3:30/7:30 flex game, Louisville football’s matchup with Miami will officially kickoff at 7:30 as the ESPN prime time game as College Game Day will be in town for the first time since 2017.

Louisville will hope to see t he return of the same magic that filled Cardinal Stadium back in  2016 during their beat down of no. 2 Florida State

I had the pleasure of working for iHeartRadio during that time and was fortunate enough to get to work behind the scenes on College Game Day and I can  tell you that the magic in the air at 5:00 in the morning reeked of optimism.

I believe many of us feel that same type of way about Louisville as we did then, and while beating Miami wouldn’t be nearly as big of an upset, it would give you a win over a well recognized ranked team.

Game Day obviously does nothing when it comes to winning a football game, but considering where Louisville was just two years ago this is a big deal. The Cards sit ranked at no. 18 while Miami is no. 17, and a win here could put them into prime position to compete at the the top of the ACC.

Miami is a much improved team from a year ago and with D’Eriq King capable of running and throwing all over the field, Louisville has to come prepared and focused.

The defense has the speed to compete with Miami and we obviously know what the offense is capable of. It will come down to whether Louisville can force the Hurricanes into throwing more than running, something UAB couldn’t do, and whether they can protect Micale Cunningham while getting after King on the other side of the ball.
