1. Taylen Kinney
No question about it, if Louisville can steal Kinney from Kansas and land the Kentucky native over the Kentucky Wildcats, then Kelsey has done enough to claim PGU during his tenure with Louisville. Landing the 2026 class No. 1 point guard over the Kentucky Wildcats and stealing him from their backyard would be a massive sign that the Cardinals are a top landing spot for elite guards.
Kinney is a top 15 prospect in the 2026 class and ranks as high as the No. 1 point guard and No. 11 recruit in the nation. The 5-star has cut his list down to just six schools with Louisville, Kansas, Kentucky, Arkansas, Oregon, and Indiana in a heated recruiting battle. Kinney would be a massive addition to Kelsey's elite guard collection since becoming Louisville's head coach, and would only make it harder for fans to argue Kelsey's PGU claim.
If Louisville can land Kinney, that would mean the Cardinals earned the nation's No. 1 point guard in two straight recruiting classes, reinforcing Kelsey's claim and proving he is right.
