ESPN Releases College World Series Announcers

Today, ESPN released a list of the announcers for the upcoming College World Series.  Announcers are something that people love or hate, but thankfully ESPN doesn’t really seem to have any BAD baseball announcers (Tim McCarver is FOX property).  That list includes a small paragraph explaining the various announcers and what they’ll be doing:

"Former Stanford pitcher, and two-time College World Series participant, Kyle Peterson will rotate analyst responsibilities with Sunday Night Baseball analyst Orel Hershiser, who has called the event since 2007. Mike Patrick, Karl Ravech and Dave O’Brien will work play-by-play. Softball Olympic Gold (2004) and Silver (2008) Medalist Jessica Mendoza will report from the field along with Kaylee Hartung."

Now, I immediately scrolled down to when Louisville is playing Indiana, and found that they’ll have Orel Hershiser, Mike Patrick, and Jessica Mendoze calling their game.  If they are able to win, they’ll have the same announcer squad for their next matchup with either Miss State or Oregon State.  Losing will earn them the announcer team of Karl Ravech, Kyle Peterson, and Kaylee Hartung.

Below is a complete listing from espnmediazone.com regarding which announcers will be commentating which games, along with the respective channel they’ll be on.  I will admit, I’m kind of sad that Dan Shulman won’t be announcing any games this year.
