Louisville basketball is entering the home stretch, as the Cardinals have just two games remaining in the regular season.
Cardinals keep surprising all of college basketball, as UofL is now ranked the highest its been since 2019-2020 season. Pat Kelsey is in just his first season as Cardinals head coach, and he has made his mark immediately.
The Cardinals have been performing exceptionally well in recent months, winning 17 of their last 18 games and currently riding a seven-game winning streak. Louisville has achieved a double-bye in the ACC Tournament, and it’s reasonable to conclude that no team in the ACC is eager to face the Cardinals at this moment.
Pat Kelsey and his squad are showing their full potential right now, and are showing just how scary they are. They are becoming legitimate ACC title contenders and are maybe a nightmare matchup for Duke and Clemson.
1 Question for every Louisville basketball player before ACC Tournament
Louisville basketball is playing excellent basketball, but there are always things to improve on and some questions to make sure the team carries this momentum into the postseason.
Winning in March is never a given, or is it easy, so if the Cardinals can keep this streak through the ACC Tournament and into the NCAA Tournament, then they could be a team that makes the Final Four. So, here is one question for every Louisville basketball rotational player as the countdown to the 2025 ACC Tournament begins.
Will Khani Rooth be in the rotation?
Khani Rooths has provided some solid minutes down the stretch, even though the stats don't show it. Head coach Pat Kelsey has praised the 6-foot-8, 205-pound freshman a lot, as Rooths continues to hustle and whatever Kelsey asks of him he will go out and deliver.
Rooth's rotation and role have increased recently after Noah Waterman has not performed to the standard. The 4-star prospect out of Bradenton, Fla. is one of the highest-rated recruits to come to Louisville in the history of the program.
The sky is the limit for this true freshman, but the question comes down to: is his time next year? Rooths currently averages 13.2 minutes per game with 3.6 points per game and three rebounds a game.
