The glaring No. 1 position Louisville had to attack this offseason was the quarterback position. Louisville lost four quarterbacks after the 2025 season as Miller Moss graduated and the other three transferred. So, with the Cards in dire need of a QB1, Jeff Brohm wasted no time and got his starting quarterback in Ohio State transfer Lincoln Kienholz.
The former 4-star recruit ranked as high as 172 overall and No. 11 among quarterbacks in the 2023 recruiting class. Kienholz was known for his crazy accuracy, throwing 86 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions in his junior and senior seasons. He then committed to Ohio State, where he spent his first three seasons, including last year, when he competed for the starting job but Heisman candidate Julian Sayin ended up winning it.
He went on to complete 58.3 percent of his 36 passes at Ohio State, while adding 250 passing yards and one touchdown. He now commits to Louisville, where he will serve as Brohm’s starting quarterback. He ranked No. 160 overall and No. 18 among quarterbacks in the portal.
