The Louisville Cardinals have had the season they always wanted un Jeff Brohm, and in some scenarios, it could lead them to the College Football Playoff. The Cardinals have had some great wins this season, their best probably coming over then-ranked No. 2 Miami, and their only loss right now comes from Virginia, which is currently leading the ACC.

Brohm has set up his team well this season, but with the state of the ACC right now, it looks like only one team could get in from the conference, and that is going to be the conference champion. So if Louisville wants its best shot at making it in, they need to find itself at least in the ACC Championship.

With the College Football Playoff on everyone's mind, it is the perfect time for the selection committee to release its first rankings of the season, which will come out Tuesday, November 4, live on ESPN.

So, with the rankings coming out, here is a prediction of how the playoffs will shake out at the end of the season.

Louisville fans are probably looking at this prediction, wondering why they should care about it because they aren't even in it. Well, that is because right now, Virginia and Georgia Tech are still holding the lead in the ACC.

Georgia Tech just lost its first game of the season, so it is time to see how that is going to affect the Yellow Jackets. Virginia has Wake Forest, Duke, and Virginia Tech left on its schedule, so there is no telling exactly how their season will end.

For Louisville, they need to find a way to get into the ACC Championship because, depending on their ending record and how other teams' seasons who are currently in play out, the Cardinals could be a late addition, but as of right now, they will only get in with a championship bid.
