The NFL had its 53-man roster cuts on Tuesday, which meant that some fan favorites and former Louisville football stars either saw their NFL dreams become a reality or faced harsh reality. Louisville had 19 players make the rosters, including 2024 star Corey Thornton, who is emerging as a hidden gem for the Carolina Panthers.

On the other hand, many Cardinals unfortunately learned that their NFL dreams will take a significant pause as they were informed their respective NFL team have released them. Louisville fans saw 13 players cut over the past few days, and now those former Cardinals stars will face considerable uncertainty about their next step and whether the NFL is a reality.

Ja'Corey Brooks, Thor Griffith, and Michael Gonzalez are three names that pop out from the Cardinals' 2024 roster who went undrafted and many thought might have a legitimate chance of earning a roster spot. Brooks is the most surprising of all the players not to make the Commanders roster, but after Washington agreed to a massive deal with Terry McLaurin and took just five wide receivers on their roster, his NFL dreams quickly took a hit.
