Louisville basketball learned Monday evening that the Cardinals will lose their second player to the Transfer Portal, as On3 Sports' Joe Tipton reported that the Cardinals' former 4-star commitment, Khani Rooths, will enter the portal.
Louisville basketball fans crushed after losing 4-star fan favorite to Transfer Portal
Rooths was a fan favorite while he was here for two seasons, and many thought he had the potential to grow and be Pat Kelsey’s starting small forward or power forward his junior season. Rooths brought a spark and energy off the bench that Louisville fans loved, but the 6-foot-10, 215-pound forward wasn’t able to shoot the ball consistently, which forced Kelsey to limit his minutes at times.
The Cardinals' frontcourt has now lost two players to the Transfer Portal, as Sananda Fru announced he will enter the portal as well, meaning Kelsey will have a lot of work to do this upcoming month. So with Rooths now entering the Transfer Portal and Louisville in dire need of a small forward or power forward, here are two dream, two reach, and two realistic targets for Louisville after Khani Rooths enters the portal.
