My Thoughts On NCAA Football 13

I know many of you went to pick up NCAA Football 13 last night, and I am one of those guys. Overall the game was pretty good. I’m going to give you some pros (99 % pros) and cons of the game, and tell you whether or not you should buy it.

One feature that blows me away is the Heisman Challenge. It’s absolutely outstanding to bring back past Heisman greats and put them on any team you want. That was the main thing that grabbed my attention to the game. I thought NCAA Football 12 set the bar high, but the Heisman Challenge takes this EA Sports experience to a whole other level.

I also enjoy the gameplay and presentation. This is a small thing added, but I absolutely love how EA included “studio updates” into the game. I feel that it gives this franchise a much more real experience. I may be crazy, but I think it brings the game to a whole other level. The intro is also better. For example, say you play as LSU, before the game starts there is a tiger in a cage which happens in real life. I know it was in last years game, but I think that experience was upgraded to top notch.

The gameplay also adds a new sense of realism. There are much improved catching and running animations, which are ten times better than years past. EA Sports did a fantastic job of getting everything to look good and realistic. This will make the bar high and hard to live up to for NCAA Football 14.

Now we are at my favorite parts of the game, which are Road To Glory and Dynasty. These remain mainly unchanged. Although, there is a slight update in recruiting for Dynasty mode. Road To Glory is still the same old thing, but it’s still a goodie. Really the only improvement for Road To Glory is having the ability to do punt returns for your created player, whether or not you play offense or defense.

This game is quite a bit better than NCAA Football 12. I definitely recommend that you buy it. You will definitely get your money’s worth. There are a few features in the game, like certain problems with gameplay and such, that you may not like, but I feel this game is definitely worth giving a try.

My final grade – 9/10
