Get off the struggle bus and back on the TRAIN!

Don’t stop believing Cardinals, and I mean all of us: players, coaches, staff and Cardinals in the stands.  There is still a lot to look forward to and much to celebrate moving forward.  The stink of the UCF loss, and more so what we think we lost by losing, may linger like the smell of week old sushi bought from the day after case, that was accidentally put there a day late.  We need to throw it out and move on.

We cant change the past and if we focus on it we are missing the now and doing nothing about the future.  Like a girlfriend that broke our heart and ran away with our best friend, the pain is crushing but eventually we get over it and find someone even hotter that treats us better, and they end up alone and empty.  Its time we get off the struggle bus and back on the train.   We need to focus on the good and get back behind this team.

We are 6-1.  That is still one of the best records in FBS.  Kentucky is 1-5.  There is still a chance we could go to a BCS bowl but it will take us rooting against UCF.  So those of you who purchased voodoo dolls in NOLA earlier this year, you know what to do.  Even if we fall short of a BCS appearance, it’s not a bad thing.  It’s not our problem, the issue is the BCS system and how the NCAA manages college football.  We are still a great football team and will get a great bowl.  I didn’t hear anyone complain about going to the Belk Bowl in 2012 or the Beef O’Brady bowl in 2011.  That wasn’t that long ago.  What matters is our program is represented in a respectable bowl in the off-season to reward our players for their efforts during the season and help with recruiting.  I’ll be going wherever we end up because REAL card fans know how to party!!!

Teddy Bridgewater is still having an amazing season even though many have counted him out of the Heisman.  Teddy isnt playing for the Heisman, he is playing to help his team.  Statistically Teddy is 9th in the country in passing yards, 3rd in touchdowns, and 3rd in overall passer rating.  I believe Bridgewater is the best quarterback in the country and lets help him get that recognition.  Outside of the Heisman, Bridgewater is on the Davey O’Brien watch list and is current NOT in the top five of fan votes!  Leading in votes is none other than UCF’s Blake Bortles.  VOTE NOW HERE: http://www.voteobrien.org/.

DeVante Parker, seen below making his amazing catch in the Sugar Bowl, is up for the The Biletnikoff Award presented annually to the nation’s outstanding college football receiver. VOTE HERE NOW: http://biletnikoffaward.com/fan-vote Many other Cardinals including Preston Brown, Hakeem Smith, and Calvin Pryor are also on award watch lists.  You can see all the watch lists here to show your support for our players: http://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2013-07-08/2013-college-football-watch-lists

The are many seniors on this team including defensive ends Marcus Smith and Roy Philon on defense and Ryan Hubble (TE) and fan favorite Damian Copeland (Honey Mustard), who will be suiting up for the Cardinals for the last time this season.  Lets help make it memorable for them by staying positive and showing an unrelenting high level of support for these student-athletes who have helped resurrect a program that sported a 4-8 record the year they committed.   They took a chance on us and led us to the best finish in program history last season.

Step away from the expectation and get some perspective.  We have a very special group of players, many who we will see at the next level, that need and deserve our support.  A winning season is a great season if history serves me right.  We didn’t expect the Sugar Bowl last year.  Do not turn your back or walk away from this team because of one loss.  Kentucky fans are more ravenous than ever supporting their basketball team after an embarrassing loss to Robert Morris in the NIT.  You have to give them some respect, they love their team – and so should we.

Keep up the positive posts, fill the stands, and make some noise!

South Florida is up.  GO CARDS! BEAT THE BULLS!
