In 2011 the Louisville Cardinals could only sit back and watch as their home crumbled around them. Syracuse and Pittsburgh announced they were leaving the Big East for the ACC, followed by West Virginia and TCU to the Big 12. The Big East was no longer a guarantee for a spot in the BCS or the College Football Playoff and Louisville’s spot as a premiere collegiate team was questioned.  As Louisville was passed up by Big 12, the Big East was dealt another blow in 2012 with Notre Dame’s announcement that they too would be leaving the Big East for the ACC. Louisville’s home was a shell of its former self and the Cards were on the outside looking out in major college sports.

Now here we are two years later. Instead of battles against UCF and SMU, Louisville gets to enjoy games against Clemson, FSU and Notre Dame. A lot changed in 2014, but one thing remained constant: Louisville’s competitiveness in all sports. Great performances, comebacks, heartache, upsets, championships. Louisville had it all in 2014 and you can’t expect anything less in the future.

As we look forward to what the year 2015 has to offer us, lets take some time to reflect on another great year for Louisville fans.
