Louisville football: 15 players to watch in the Charlotte game
By Derek Snyder
Reggie Bonnafon could be one the biggest keys to the Louisville offense this season. After playing quarterback and a little bit of running back for Bobby Petrino, he has now moved into the slot. At 6-foot-3 Bonnafon has the size and athleticism to be a match-up nightmare for defenses this year. There on’t be too many nickelbacks this year that will be able to play him man-to-man.
This Charlotte game will giv everyone a good luck of how easily Bonnafon will transition to the slot. Former Cardinal, Eli Rodgers excelled at the slot for Louisville, giving Teddy Bridgewater a consistent target throughout their time at the University.
It will be interesting to see what kind of chemistry Bonnafon and quarterback Lamar Jackson have built up over this off-season.
Here is what Bobby Petrino had to say about Bonnafon in Jeff Greer’s article from the courier Journal:
"“I’m excited to see Reggie and his development as a receiver,” Petrino said. “He’s still very talented, so we’re going to find ways to get the ball in his hands as much as we can and know that he’ll be a real playmaker for us.”"
Look for Bonnafon to come out rolling about the Charlotte 49ers.
