Louisville fans probably have never heard of this guy in their lives. That’s okay, but you should know that he is one of the better players on the 49ers’ roster this season.

Here is what College Football News had to say about Phillips:

"Senior RB Kalif Phillips. Phillips has set the standard for future backs in Charlotte, tallying school-best numbers for touchdowns, rushing yards and 100-yard games. He was also the 49ers’ only all-league player, so he’s proven he can continue to thrive against a higher level of competition. Plus, Phillips is poised to build on his junior year now that Charlotte figures to be in a better situation in the passing game."

These type of running backs can cause problems for teams that aren’t paying attention to the importance of the game. Don’t get me wrong, Louisville will be 100 percent ready for this matchup. They will just need to make sure their tackling isn’t sloppy out of the gate.
