We take a look at where the Louisville football team is at in the top five programs in terms of recruiting for the 2017 class according 247 Sports.

The Louisville football team landed a huge recruit this week in four star safety CJ Avery. This has the Cardinals in the top 25 of recruiting in the country and has all of us excited for the success that is to come in the future.

With that being said, let’s take a look at the top five programs in the ACC for recruits in the 2017 class, according to 247 Sports.

5. North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels are on a roll going into next season in terms of recruiting. It was a close call between the Virginia Tech Hokies and North Carolina, but 247 Sports had them just one point higher on their current list.

According to 247 Sports, the Tar Heels top 2017 recruits are:

  1. Jonah Melton: 5 Star, Offensive Guard
  2. Jake Lawler: 4 Star, Defensive End
  3. Tre Shaw: 4 Star, Cornerback

UNC finished the 2016 season on a little bit of a sour note after squandering a chance to make the ACC Championship game with a loss at home to the Duke Blue Devils.

However, a win over Stanford in the Sun Bowl would go a long way for gaining some momentum heading into 2017.
