We take a look at five important questions for the Louisville basketball team, heading into their Wednesday night game against Notre Dame.

The Louisville basketball team will be looking to pick-up their first conference win of the season on Wednesday night when they take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Cards played very well against Indiana last weekend, which was extremely encouraging given how much they struggled with Virginia just a few days before.

Louisville has always struggled in South Bend, but that doesn’t mean that this team doesn’t have the perfect recipe for shut down a very good Notre Dame offense this on Wednesday.

With that being said, let’s take a look at five important questions heading into Louisville’s game against Notre Dame:

5. Can Donovan Mitchell Have Two Great Games In-A-Row?

Louisville head coach Rick Pitino benched Donovan Mitchell against Indiana because of his poor performance against Virginia and it did wonders for the sophomore guard. Mitchell absolutely lit up the Hoosiers by scoring a season-high 25 points off the bench in the Cards 15 point win over Indiana last Saturday.

If the Cardinals are going to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament this season it will be because Mitchell has a couple of games like this.

However, was that a one-time performance or can Donovan Mitchell continue to be the scoring threat for Pitino every week?

I know one thing for sure, the Cards will need him to have another solid game against Notre Dame if they want to pick-up their first ACC win of the season.
