9. Louisville Won Despite Their Poor Free Throw Shooting

One of the biggest difference between Louisville beating or losing to Notre Dame on Wednesday was free throws. There really isn’t any way to put this nicely, but the Cardinals are the second to worst team in the conference in free throw percentage. The only team below Louisville is Georgia Tech, who actually shot better from the line than the Cards did on Saturday.

Louisville finished the game shooting 10-20 at the line, whereas the Yellow Jackets went 15-20.

The encouraging thing is that the Cardinals were still able to win by 15 points, despite having a terrible percentage from the line.

However, shooting 50 percent from the charity-stripe is not going to be a recipe for success moving forward for an already struggling group of shooters.
