Joshua Bellamy – WR
Offseason move: Resigned with Chicago Bears (Signed restricted free agency tender)
2016-17 statistics: 24 receptions, 376 yards, 1 touchdown
Somehow Joshua Bellamy has been able to stick on an NFL roster for 5+ years after going undrafted and signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012. Bellamy was only in Louisville for two years after committing out of JUCO, putting up 53 receptions for 681 yards and 7 touchdowns over his two seasons, numbers typically not-worthy of being in the NFL for multiple years.
To his credit, Bellamy has found a role as a special-teams player and a reputable number four or five receiver.
After finishing the 2016-17 season on a pretty bad Bears team with 376 years and 1 touchdown, the team thought that-that was enough to bring back Bellamy on a one year restricted free agency tender.
With the Bears also bringing in several other receivers, including big-time former Jacksonville Jaguar Allen Robinson, Bellamy will have his work cut out for him if he has a chance of being on the roster for week one of the 2018-19 season.
