Jaire Alexander – CB

Many believe that there isn’t a better cornerback in the 2018 NFL Draft than former Cardinal Jaire Alexander. Statistics don’t come close to telling the story of his impact on the football field the past three years for the Louisville football program. For that, just look at the games he’s missed over the past two years for Louisville. At 6’0, 195 pounds Alexander has decent size for a NFL corner, but has the necessary ball skills to be a teams #1 corner. However, injuries have kept Alexander off the field for several games in each of last two seasons, which has NFL General Managers a bit weary. Even with that being said, Alexander will be a first round pick next Thursday night, and could go anywhere from 12-25.

Strengths:

  • Great ball skills (7 interceptions over 3 years)
  • Good instincts
  • Fast feet
  • Locks down one side of the field
  • Good tackler
  • Good speed when breaking on the ball
  • Strong
  • Athletic

Needs Improvement:

  • Durabiity
  • Could struggle with taller receivers

Projections:

Walter Football: Rounds 1-2

NFL.com: Rounds 2-3
