Louisville Football: Bold Predictions for 2018-19 Season

Colin Wilson becomes Louisville’s lead running back
In just two games last season Louisville fans got a chance to see a small glimpse of Colin Wilson, instantly recognizing the former four star recruit in 2017 could be special for the Louisville football program moving forward.
A hand injury took away most of summer camp from Wilson, which then carried into the season keeping him on the sidelines for the first three games . But when he finally took the field against Kent State, he instantly made an impact.
Though he only carried the ball three times in each of the two games he appeared in before a torn ACL knocked him out of action for the remainder of the year, he finished the season with 69 yards and an incredible 11.5 yard per carry average.
Yes his two games were against far inferior talent, but instincts are instincts no matter who you play and we saw quickly that Wilson had them.
While Wilson is still attempting to recover from his knee injury that knocked him out of the final eight games of the season, he was able to suit up and go through warm ups during the spring game a few weeks back. Petrino and staff mentioned that he still had a bit of a ways to go but that he should be back in time for the game against Alabama.
Louisville returns several running backs from last season including redshirt sophomore Dae Williams, senior Trey Smith, and the spring games leading rusher Tobias Little. Wilson will face a lot of competition through the summer, and if the past tells us anything about this season, he will be sharing carries with the other backs.
However, I fully believe Wilson has the all-around talent to take over as the teams go to back next season and could finish the season with 600+ rushing yards, 250+ receiving yards, and somewhere between five and 10 touchdowns.
