Jaylen Smith WR (Sr., 6-4, 223)

Smith has improved each year as a Cardinal and capped off last year with 980 yards and 7 TDs in 10 total games. What was even more impressive was that through the first two games of the season, Smith totaled 300 yards on 17 receptions, making him the highest grossing receiver through two games in both Bobby Petrino eras at Louisville.

His incredible performance earned him first team all-ACC honors, and officially put him on the radar of NFL scouts. He’s a big target that Lamar Jackson hit over the middle and in the end zone. He became our big play receiver and any more progress in his senior year will only increase his draft stock. Athlon sports recently named him one of the top 25 draft prospects to watch this year in the ACC. What remains to be seen is his chemistry with new starting QB Jawon Pass. What’s even crazier about Smith’s production thus far is that he’s done it with several number one wide receivers on the roster with him, i.e. James Quick, Jamari Staples, Dez Fitzpatrick and Seth Dawkins.
