Louisville athletics has had some fantastic seasons in the last 10 years. We ranked the top 5 teams in every sport over that span.

Since 2008, Louisville athletics have been on the rise in all sports. Although every program goes through its ups and downs, Louisville has had one of the greatest stretches of sustained greatness in every sport over the last decade.

Former Athletic Director Tom Jurich had a vision to build a national college athletics powerhouse program, which is exactly what we did.

Whether it was men’s basketball, baseball, softball, swim & dive, football, or women’s basketball, Jurich made sure that coaches who were hired had a vision that matched his. With those coaches came players who left legacies that may never be forgotten. Guys and gals like Lamar Jackson, Terrence Williams, Peyton Siva, Angel McCoughtry, Brendan McKay, and so on and so forth. Those players led the Louisville athletic programs to great success, putting the University on the map for years to come.

Since the mid 2000’s the Cardinals athletic program has had several teams who went on to achieve greatness. So we decided that it was time to rank the 5 greatest teams of the last 10 years.

This wasn’t easy. I mean how do you even star?

How We Ranked the Teams

We sat down and ranked every season for every sport, from men’s basketball to women’s soccer. Each team is ranked based on it’s impact that it had on the program, as well as the influence it had nationally.
