Louisville football has more questions going into 2018 than in any other preseason in recent memory.

Louisville football is full of mystery going into the 2018 season. Likely more than in any season since Bobby Petrino’s return to The Ville, the Cards are being overlooked. Losing your Heisman Trophy winning quarterback, defensive coordinator, and 9 starters on defense will do that to any team’s national perception.

What people aren’t talking about is what the Cards have coming back for 2018-19. Jawon “Puma” Pass, who has been the talk of every local media member since the day Lamar was drafted, has big shoes to fill from the former Heisman Trophy winner. But the former blue chip prospect, who chose the Cards over Bama and Auburn, should be the perfect player to help Petrino transition his offense back to the glory days of “Bobby ball.” Behind a stout offensive line, Pass, a true pocket passer, will have a plethora of weapons at running back and at wide receiver, which should help Louisville stay at the top of the ACC in offensive production.

Look for a lot of hand offs to guys like Colin Wilson, Trey Smith, and Dae Williams this season, along with play action passes, involvement from the tight ends and of course big plays over the middle of the field, all of which are staples of a traditional, balanced Bobby Petrino offense.

Even with that being said there are still some questions that must be answered in 2018-19.

We break those down with answers that could help lead to a  much more successful season than most are anticipating.
