Louisville hasn’t fared well in Charlottesville against the Cavs. In Petrino’s first year, they sprung an upset over the Cards in what was an otherwise impressive start to the Bobby 2.0 era. In 2016, it took a miracle only Lamar Jackson could pull off to walk away with their first win against the Hoos.

Though he made comments about the “lack of ACC talent” this spring that struck people as odd, Mendenhall is a damn good coach who will get his team up for a big ACC game. Louisville will need to get off to a fast start, which I believe they absolutely will do. If they set the tone on the ground and make a few big plays, while holding Virginia’s play maker Olamide Zaccheaus to little, this could be a good win for the Cards.

Cards get to 1-0 in the ACC.

Jacob’s Prediction: Louisville 45, Virginia 31

Presley’s Prediction: Louisville 28, Virginia 17

Louisville record: 3-1 (1-0)
