Louisville football: 4 goals for the final five games of the season
By Jacob Lane
Louisville football’s season hasn’t gone the way the team wanted. However, there are still some attainable goals before the year comes to an end.
Well the bye week came and went and thankfully Louisville didn’t suffer another loss. Tired of that joke? Good, because it’s the last time I’ll make it.
On a serious note this season has been nothing short of a dumpster fire. Through seven games the Louisville football program sits at 2-5, one of the worst starts to a season since the Ron Cooper era, and there’s no end in sight.
The final five opponents on the Louisville schedule have a combined 26-8 record, and only one team currently has more than two losses and that’s this weeks opponent, Wake Forest. Getting to a bowl game is almost completely out the window as Bobby Petrino and the Cards would have to win four games out of the final five, which includes Wake Forest, Clemson, Syracuse, NC State, and Kentucky.
Regardless of what’s happening around the program and the future of the coaching staff and players, there are still some attainable goals this season that could help the Cards eek out a few victories down the stretch and build up momentum for next season.
Put all your frustrations with the coaching staff and poor play of the first half aside and dive into these goals with me. They are all realistic, and could change the way we see the end of the season.
Check ’em out.
