"With the firing of Bobby Petrino now behind us, there is only one question remaining.. Who will be the next head coach for the Louisville football program?"

It’s hard to argue that Vince Tyra hasn’t knocked it out of the park thus far as Louisville AD. With monumental shoes to fill, not just anyone could’ve walked in and done the job Vince Tyra has done thus far. Yet through every action, or announcement, he continues to prove he was the right person for the job. Yesterday was the perfect example, as the Louisville football program desperately needed a change now, rather than later.

He’s very conscious and in tune with the fans and their wants and needs. What they’re saying around town and on social media, Vince knows. By having his hand on the pulse of the fan base, he’s quickly earned the fans trust, putting life back into a lethargic and fatigued fan base.

While Louisville is traditionally considered a basketball school, the Louisville football program has had one of the most successful rises to national relevancy over the past 20-30 years. Louisville stands on it’s own merits with 3 major bowl wins in the Fiesta, Orange and Sugar Bowls. As a national pundit once said about Louisville football, “They’re a power now in college football. They’re no longer the little engine that could. They’re among the elite in college football.”

The next football coach isn’t just a big hire for an athletic department dealing with a negative national perception and currently handcuffed by financial litigation. This is big for Vince Tyra and his legacy as Louisville AD. The ramifications of this hire will be felt in both the short and long term. With so much riding on this hire, it’s absolutely imperative Tyra make the right hire.

Let’s take a look at the coaching candidates who could lead Louisville Football from post Bobby 2.0.
