Dino Babers – Syracuse

Head Coach

Dino Babers is a very charismatic and likeable guy. Players and fans alike admire and gravitate towards him. Known for his high tempo, wide open offense, the thought of Babers personality and offensive product would make for an intriguing option to lead the Cardinals football program.

Learning under former Baylor Head Coach Art Briles, Babers used that as a platform to get his first head coaching job at FCS Eastern Illinois in 2012. It wouldn’t take long for Bowling Green to take notice as they would give the job to Babers 2yrs later in 2014. In just his second season, he would lead the Bowling Green football program to a 10-2 record and a GoDaddy.com Bowl (although he wouldn’t coach the bowl due to taking the Syracuse job).

In his third season at Syracuse, Babers has it rolling. His team currently sitting at 8-2 on the season ranks 13th in the country. Their latest win against our Cards Friday night where they took us to the woodshed in a 54-23 shellacking. They currently protected to play Purdue in the Pinstripe Bowl as it stands.

Babers is currently 57 years old. He’s not stayed anywhere long, but would Babers see Louisville as a final destination? No one, but Dino would know that. There are some around both Babers and the UofL program that believe if offered, Dino Babers would jump in a heartbeat. In fact, he’ll push hard for the job. Babers is definitely a name to watch if Brohm doesn’t take the job.
