No. 6: Louisville Ends the Season Incredibly Mediocre From The Free Thrown Line

The Cards got fouled early and often last night and the fans were privy to a significant sample size for the always popular barbershop topic, “yeah but how are they gonna’ shoot from the stripe.” The answer, I do believe, is “Unimpressively Mundane.”

Louisville converted on 42 of 55 attempts from the charity stripe Thursday night, bringing their team average to 76.4%. Those numbers were skewed a bit by an unusually good free throw outing, as mentioned above, by Steven Enoch.

Of the 351 Division 1 teams last year, East Tennessee State ranked dead center of the pack at #176, shooting 71.3% from the line. Given a “decent” team performance last night with the inclusion of some “exceptional” personal efforts, I think we’ll see Louisville take East Tennessee State’s crown for the 18’-19’ season. Another trophy on the shelf Card’s fans!

Summary: Louisville ranks between #126 and #226 nationally in free throw percentage at the end of the regular season.

Prediction Confidence Level:Does anyone have $100,000 I can borrow? I’ve got a tip on the 6th race.
