No. 4: Ryan McMahon Leads The Team In Steals

McMahon is a good basketball player. Not okay, or decent for his size. The kid is good, capital G. He and Dwayne Sutton really commit to doing the small things that go unseen in the box score. One thing will shine though. Well 2 things. The first obviously being that McMahon takes about 78% of his shots from behind the 3 point line(that’s a real stat, look it up). The second ray of light that will find a hole to peer through is that he is sneaky good in the passing lanes and is complete, walking, havoc on guards.

McMahon has averaged a steal per 19 minutes in his limited play over the first two season. While decent within that scope alone, I think with more confidence and an expanded role he’ll easily be the king of the breakaway steal for Louisville.

Thanks to the support of Perry and Cunningham at the point, making life hard for primary ball handlers McMahon will greatly benefit from some sloppy and/or panicked passing.

Summary: McMahon averages 18(ish) minutes per game and 1.5+ steals per game in that time.

Prediction Confidence Level: See “Washington Crossing the Delaware”. Murica’(eagle screeches).
