Today is Early National Signing Day for college sports and there are huge ramifications for Louisville football. How will the Cards day turn out? Stay tuned as we provide updates.

Today is typically one of the most fun days of the year if you are into college football recruiting like myself. The Early National Signing Day in college football is still pretty new, and up until this year there really hasn’t been much that’s had any major impact on the Cards. But today as other programs are signing 12-15 of their committed kids, and receiving commitments from big time targets that they’ve been after for years, Louisville football is left with a recruiting class barely holding on.

It’s been one hell of a ride through recruiting the last six months under Bobby Petrino and now Scott Satterfield. We’ve seen some big commitments who ended up walking away from the program like QB Jaden Johnson (now signing with Southern Miss) and Jamari Williams. The States most talented class in quite some time, including eight four stars, ended up at schools like Kentucky, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Virginia Tech, while only one player in the 15 ended up with Louisville (Aidan Robbins). A class that once looked to have some potential under BP ended up crashing in flames due to his ineptitude and unwillingness to do the grit work on the recruiting trail.

New Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield currently has three players committed for the 2019-20 in a class that once had as many as 12 players under Bobby Petrino. Since the firing of Petrino several notable players have decomitted and chosen to pursue their college football careers at other University’s and Scott Satterfield & his staff let others know that their scholarships would not be honored.

What stands at this point is Manual running back Aidan Robbins, Georgia offensive lineman Ty Murray, and Zach Williamson of West Virginia, which ranks outside of the top 100 according to Rivals.

There are still a few prospects on the table as the Cards and Scott Satterfield look to try and put together a new look recruiting class. Today watch out for guys like Evan Conley (QB), Triston Miller (OT), Liam Dick (OT) and maybe even some news on new targets.

We’ll provide updates throughout the day as they are made available. Stay tuned.
