Patience in the name of the game for new Louisville football coach Scott Satterfield after signing only four players in the early signing period.

Louisville football coach Scott Satterfield, and his yet-to-be-completed staff, signed four freshmen on Wednesday- the first day of the early signing period.

While the top teams in the country filled most of their 2019 classes, Louisville didn’t have that luxury this season. Only two weeks into his tenure though, Satterfield has already accomplished a lot more than most expected.

Satterfield brought a solid portion of his staff at Appalachian State to take similar roles in Louisville, and inked Dwayne Ledford- a coveted offensive line coach- to a shiny, new, co-offensive coordinator deal. But, perhaps, most importantly, Satterfield and staff came in and got right to work, ridding Louisville’s previous recruiting class of players that didn’t fit his style of play, his schemes, or his culture. The new staff is addressing what the team truly needs, rather than trying to land a crop of talented athletes.

Let’s take a look at the three biggest take aways from Louisville’s early signing period.
