The Scott Satterfield era is upon us at Louisville football and we’re ready to look ahead. We’re starting a new series ranking the most important players currently rostered for the 2019-20 season.

Here at Big Red Louie we try and always bring fresh, original, and thought-provoking content, some of which is looking way too far in advance. But for Louisville football, that’s what we have right now to keep us sane.

We’ve decided to set out on a nearly impossible task of ranking and projecting the 25 most important players for Louisville football in Scott Satterfield’s first year as head coach. At this point, it’s too early to know who will make big jumps, who will take steps back, who will step in as freshman or redshirt freshman and play right away, and who might transfer. But even with that being said, we know the identity of Scott Satterfield football teams and the type of players he values.

Regardless of what anyone tells you, there is still plenty of talent for the new Louisville football coaching staff to work with. Though the Bobby Petrino era ended in horrific fashion, the last two recruiting classes brought in by Petrino and staff (**Coughs** Cort Dennison) have helped the new staff to at least move forward. However, many players with said talent have played out of position for various reasons (**coughs** bad coaching), not seen the field for various reasons (**coughs** bad decision making), or just haven’t performed up to par. But that doesn’t mean that the future of Louisville is hopeless.

Instead, expect the opposite.

Scott Satterfield, a coach who preaches culture, playing for the guy next to you, and someone who brings the best out of players, will have a strong base foundation to build his new program. 2019-2020 might not be the season that many are hoping we’d have in year six of the ACC, but with a new era upon us the future is bright.

Today we’ll start by breaking down players 25-21. hh
