2018 Stats: 16 tackles, 10 solo, 2 passes defended

Jones came in as a promising recruit in 2018, and did not disappoint. In his true freshman year, he saw more and more playing time at corner opposite Rodjay Burns and Anthony Johnson, and worked his way into a starting role.

A four star recruit coming out of high school, Jones is a prototypical corner with the speed and skillset to continue to work his way onto the field. Jones is a guy who should be afforded the opportunity to again win a starting spot, and will likely be seen as another foundational piece for Scott Satterfield and company.

In 8 games, he basically averaged 2 tackles a game in a season where he battled injuries and fought for playing time against more veteran players like Burns.

Look for Jones’s play to take a drastic step up next season.
